I used to be really close to my Grandparents, still am to the Grandpa that’s still around. This poem is remembering good times with my Grandma and Grandpa on my mother’s side, they’ve been dead 5 and 6 years respectively, but still the memories with them are fresh.

The smell of home baked biscuits
Mingled with the smell of you
And the taste of super sweet tea dregs
And lemonade
Learning how to bake
And make soap (kind of)
Being polite
And helpful
Watching Disney
Because you loved it
As much as I
So many life lessons
So many happy times
Thank you Grandma
I miss you both
Hope you enjoy, please feel free to comment.

  1. I can feel the closeness you felt with them. Very homely and comforting, thanks for sharing your tribute to them 🙂
