The Delicious Fragility Of This Travesty
I was given a prompt to use several phrases (sorry can’t remember which they were) in a poem, this is what came of it.
.
The delicious fragility of this travesty
Where we still laugh and wish
Like we have done for years
Could be broken so simply
I tie the ribbon in a foolish way
And smash
It breaks
And we suddenly grow up
Far too old for our age
Can we not go back to the old days
When everything was a wish away
But no now we’re here we can’t go back
You can’t hide experience
Any more than the sun.
.
hope you enjoy, please feel free to comment.
