A Few Short Words

A musing on the power of words and how a single sentence can be more powerful that a huge speech, and how three words are some of the strongest in our language.

A few short words

Have all the power

They can bring death

Or restart a heart

Only four short words

And that at most

Have all the power

In this here world

Only four short words

And that at most

You only need three

To start a heart.

  1. Or silence. Can’t forget silence. It can be more powerful than words.

  2. words heal or hurt,
    powerful tribe on words.

  3. slick and astute

  4. It does sound very powerful – simple words to change things. It’s very inspiring for me. Recently, I have been trying to communicate with sentences consisting of a few words but with little success. Would you have any tips on that?

    • Glad you enjoyed it. Erm, the best way is to just think if there’s any way you can say something with fewer, or simpler words, sometimes I love you is more powerful than a thousand words that say the same thing and telling someone not to use big words to make themselves sound clever is far better than asking them not to use gargantuan idioms to fabricate intelligence. Put simply K.I.S.S – keep it simple, stupid (a law that can be put to all things).
