The Mask, reprise.

The first poem I posted on my blog was The Mask it was also one of the first poems I wrote, a friend suggested I went back to an old poem and added to it, this seemed the most logical poem to go with, I have slightly changed the start, but the main addition is the whole second half.

A mask I do wear

To hide my despair

Long have I worn it thin and thick

Till on my face it did stick

Now remove it I cannot

I wish wear it I had not

Will I ever know or be

The truly maskless me?

Three years now have passed

More masks have I amassed

They rarely stay the same

Yet still here they remain

Still stuck to my face

Much to my disgrace

I doubt I will ever be

The truly maskless me.

Hope you enjoy, please feel free to comment.
