Silence Kills Me

There’s a person who works in my local supermarket, she must be about my age. She has scars all down her arms. The part of me that used to self harm wants to hug her and tell her it will be okay. The sensible part of me that says some strange bloke hugging you would scare you witless stops me.

Silence kills me
Society binds me
As I see the scars
You try to hide
I want to speak
Hope and peace
In the two seconds
You serve me
But society binds me
And my silence kills me

Hope you enjoy, please feel free to comment.
